Christina Low

Executive Director

Extensive experience from global blue chip conglomerates in the sports and entertainment broadcast media, fintech, SaaS space, having held key positions such as Head of Broadcast Partnerships at the International Olympic Committee, Chief Marketing Officer at Oakland Roots Sports Club, and Global Sponsorship & Strategy Lead at Endeavor. Has a Doctoral Candidate in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University, with an MA in Sports Business Management from the University of San Francisco and a BSc in Sports Medicine/Pre-Med from Pepperdine University.

Currently, a second-year clinical psychology doctoral student concentrating on dogs and how they can greatly contribute to mental health treatment whether in the form of service dogs, animal-assisted therapy dogs, emotional support dogs, or a trusted family companion. Proud dog mom to OB, a two-year-old silky terrier who is a service dog in training.

Joellen Ferrer

Chair

Executive and Strategic Advisor with extensive experience in media technology companies, specializing in elevating emerging brands, driving strategic initiatives, and leading through change. Notable roles include Senior Vice President of Integration Management at Crunchyroll, Director of Marketing Communications at IBM Cloud Video (Ustream), and Head of U.S. Communications at StubHub. Based in San Francisco, experienced in navigating startups, corporate transitions, and pro sports consultancy. Renowned for bringing order to chaos, they have a proven track record in aligning teams, maximizing enterprise value, and guiding companies through critical growth and acquisition phases.

Their fur-family includes two Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Pepa and Barkley, who are often unintentional, vocal attendees on Zoom calls throughout the day.

 

Carol Anne daroy

Board Member

A Marketing Consultant specializing in email and social media marketing, creating campaigns that drive engagement and sales. With expertise in end-to-end email marketing, social media content planning, and partnership development, they have successfully enhanced community engagement and social impact. Notably, as a Board Member at the American Dog Society, they leverage strategic partnerships to strengthen brand presence and social initiatives.

Additionally, they have been involved in “The Sweet Life of Calvin,” a series of successful marketing campaigns that highlight their creative approach and ability to connect with diverse audiences. Their skills have consistently delivered impactful results across various platforms.

Steve kao

Board Member

The Chief Information Officer at Contract Services, an organization that carries out the required provisions of the collective bargaining agreements between the film and television industry’s West Coast Studio Local Unions and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.  In prior roles, has led IT organizations in a variety of industries such as Entertainment, Media, Technology, and Consumer Products.

An adjunct professor at USC’s Bovard College and a board member of Clazzical Notes, a non-profit focused on creating engaging, educational and experiential music and artistic performances that foster community understanding across diverse cultures, genres and generations. Holds an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business and a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Annie lien

Board Member

A seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in UX, AI/Machine Learning, and innovative solutions, they began their career at Robert Bosch’s Silicon Valley research center, where they also served as Team Leader for Team AnnieWay in the DARPA Urban Challenge. Their strategic roles have included driving initiatives for Audi Autonomous Driving at VW Group’s Silicon Valley innovation lab, along with contributions to product development, marketing/PR, and governmental affairs.

With a decade spent in the deep tech startup ecosystem, they have held management, advisory, and executive leadership roles for startups, investors, and major auto manufacturers like Toyota. Their insights have been featured by prominent media outlets, including Bloomberg, Nikkei, and ABCNews. Currently, they are part of the Senior Leadership & Management team at Aptiv, focusing on advancing mobility solutions. They hold a Continuing Studies certificate in Machine Learning + Software Fundamentals from San Jose State University, an M.A. in Museum Studies (Interactive Exhibit Design/UX) from San Francisco State University, and two B.A. degrees in History and Classics from UCLA.

Vice President of the Partner Ecosystem at Vajro. Prior to Vajro, led the Growth and Partnership efforts at Chargebee, a leading subscription revenue management platform. Over their 25+ year career in technology, has held several strategic leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies: Mercedes-Benz Research & Development, Nokia Siemens Networks and Sun Microsystems.

Deep domain knowledge in Fintech, Mobile Applications, and SaaS. Has also been an entrepreneur, having co-founded three startups in the mobile and software space, with two successful exits. Been featured on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg speaking about telecom and mobile apps. Masters and Bachelors degree both from Carnegie Mellon University.

Theresa Martinez

A seasoned global strategy and operations leader with extensive experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology. Proven ability to drive growth through developing and executing impactful strategies, cultivation and management of impactful partnerships, forward thinking ways to solve for opportunities, and optimizing organizational performance. Experience in assembling high-performing teams to foster cross-system collaboration and consistently deliver innovative solutions. Achievements include pioneering go-to-market models, driving global infrastructure investments, leading organizational transformations, and enhancing patient access and revenue.

Advocacy and policy leader, including a key role in the successful signing of the Philippine Cancer Bill in 2019, global product launches, strategic partnerships, and initiatives in diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrating.
