The American Dog Society is proud to announce that Kaja Sonik Zon, a well-known passionate advocate for responsible dog parenting and a social media influencer, has joined the charity’s National Board and now is the President of American Dog Society.

With a dedicated online community of over 4.8 million followers across TikTok and Instagram (@Kaja_Macho), Kaja has spent years educating and inspiring dog lovers worldwide. As the new President, Kaja plans to launch innovative programs, leverage digital engagement to increase community impact, collaborate with shelters and policymakers to advocate for stronger protections for dogs and their parents, and partner with brands to raise funds for the charity.

Her journey as a dog advocate became deeply personal through her beloved pitbull, Macho, whose unwavering love and companionship touched the hearts of millions. Even after Macho’s passing, Kaja continues to honor his legacy by using her platform to support dogs, raise awareness about responsible dog parenting, and promote adoption. She is also deeply committed to changing perceptions of pitbulls, showcasing their loving and loyal nature, and advocating for fair treatment of the breed. Macho’s story not only resonated with millions but also inspired tangible change. His journey from an adored companion to a symbol of resilience and advocacy strengthened Kaja’s mission to help every dog find a loving forever home.

 

Kaja will lead initiatives to create free educational resources, support dog parents, and reduce the number of dogs surrendered to shelters. In addition to driving day-to-day impact, she will shape the long-term vision of the organization, ensuring sustainable growth and lasting change for dogs and their families. Her expertise in digital storytelling, fundraising, and community engagement will help ADS expand its reach and impact. Kaja joined ADS to ensure that every dog has a loving forever home and that dog parents have the knowledge and resources to provide the best possible care.
